How it all began....
In January 2013 I made the decision to join a well known slimming group and begin my weight loss journey. I had my third child the previous May and had not made any real effort to loose the weight I gained. I had in actual fact ignored it completely I guess and put it to the back of my mind trying not to think too much about the fact I was a size 18 and weighing just over 16 stones. Just after Christmas in January 2013 my close friend Julie called me asking if I would like to join a slimming group. After the initial shock of the suggestion that I was fat I figured why not? And so my journey began.
12 months later, 6 stones lighter and now a regular long distance runner, I made the decision to give something back. I love to cook and since beginning my journey I have cooked from scratch every day and have loved every moment of it. Not just cooking for the family but also regularly cooking for friends as well as party's. When I was made redundant this seemed to be the perfect opportunity to finally put into practice the idea that had been on my mind for sometime and do something I enjoy doing whilst helping others along the way and so was born The Fakeaway Café.
So, what is The Fakeaway Café? Well first of all, despite the name I do not actually have a cafe. Unfortunately you can't simply pop in for a sit down, a meal and a brew. I make meals from scratch using good quality fresh ingrediants bearing in mind your needs and requirements. I then freeze them in individual portions ready for you to re-heat at home or work. The only decision you need to make is what to have. My menu is quite extensive and the popular dishes are listed in the online ordering section of the website. Please only use this as a guide. If there is something that you would like that isn't currently listed then get in touch and let me know. I cater for most if not all dietry needs including vegetarian, vegan, dairy and gluten free. I want to help you.
All meals come with a "Fake Score". Please contact me for further details of how this works and how it can be converted to make sense within your own plan.
